Frontpage

Päijänne, the most famous large lake in central Finland, offers unique recreation opportunities with its nearby bodies of water. Almost 200 kilometers of water from Lahti to Jyväskylä, from Heinola to Jämsä, large backwaters, narrow straits, canals, green beaches, rocky islets, one after the other more beautiful coves and variously equipped destinations along the way.

The Päijänne recreation area association maintains recreation areas open to all, available all year round in the entire Päijänne area. The association’s destinations are not intended for use by commercial tourism operators. On these pages, you will find information about the association’s areas with indicative equipment descriptions and approach maps.

At the association’s sites, a 5€ wood maintenance fee is collected for the use of the campfire site.

A sauna fee of 10€/hour is collected at sites with saunas, and 5€/person for joint shifts (in the sites, reservation boards for sauna shifts). The saunas are in use during the boating season.

With these fees, wood maintenance at the sites is possible.

You can make the payment easily with MobilePay number 90270 or to the account FI03 8000 1779 4186 65 with the reference 10537 or by putting the money in the locker found at the destination in cash.

The best compliment maintenance is that the places are left in at least as good condition after their use as they were when they arrived, and ready firewood is waiting for the next person who comes.

The maps on our pages are indicative. Always use official sea charts when coming ashore.

NOTE! Our piers cannot withstand the side fastening of large boats in the wind. Side mooring of small boats is allowed. Avoid making waves!

All of our locations have self-service waste management, so take away what you bring. THANK YOU!

Sunny days in Päijänne’s water areas!
